About XXXII CBRAVIC/LatinDisplay 2011

The XXXII Brazilian Congress on Vacuum Applications in Industry and Science (Congresso Brasileiro de Aplicações de Vácuo na Indústria e na Ciência – XXXII CBRAVIC), promoted by the Brazilian Vacuum Society (SBV) will be held at Federal University of Itajubá, in the city of Itajubá, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 26th to 31st of August, 2011.

This year, XXXII CBRAVIC will join the LatinDisplay 2011, an event of the Latin American Chapter (LTN Chapter) of the Society of Information Display (SID), of the Brazilian Network for Displays (BrDisplay Network) and of the Ibero-American Network for Displays (LatinDisplay Network).

XXXII CBRAVIC/LatinDisplay 2011 will provide the participants the opportunity to discuss the following technologies, as well as their applications:

• Vacuum science and technology and applications
• Plasma science and technology and applications
• Materials science and technology and biomaterials
• Nanotechnology
• Atomic and molecular science
• Surfaces, interfaces and thin films
• Instruments and metrology
• Renewable energy sources and solar cells
• Batteries
• Optical devices
• Displays (LCDs, AMLCDs, OLEDs, plasma, flexible, reflective, e-books, 3D, projection, etc.)
• Flat-panel measurements and standards
• Lighting, lamps (LED, OLED, fluorescent) and backlight units (BLUs) for LCDs
• Touch-screens, tablets, and other peripherals
• Display applications (mobile, automotive, avionics, education, medical, signage, advertising, etc.)
• Organic electronics and integrated circuits for driving, signal processing, signal conversion, etc.
• Electronics, graphic interfaces, etc.
• Visual perception, ergonomics, human factors, color performance, etc.
• Interconnectivity, usability and access to multiple sources of content
• Display manufacturing
• Display market

The objectives of XXXII CBRAVIC/LatinDisplay 2011 is to present the latest advances in these technologies and related areas, to bring together researchers in these areas to share information, to stimulate new research relationships and to encourage those new to all these fields. It aims, also, to promote the interchange of scientists, researchers, professors and students that actuate in applied and pure research in these fields.

XXXII CBRAVIC/LatinDisplay 2011 will consist of:

• Scientific and Technical Symposium. See “Scientific and Technical Symposium”.
• Round Table and Business Meetings. See “Round Table and Business Meetings
• Exhibition. See “Exhibition”.
• Meeting of the LTN SID Chapter, BrDisplay Network and Ibero-American Display Network. See “Chapter and Network Meetings”.
• DisplayEscola (Display School), Vacuum and Plasma Courses. See “DisplayEscola”.There will be, also, an introductory course on vacuum for high school professors.
• Visits to companies and laboratories

Meant for an international audience as well as for Brazilian and Ibero–American professionals, XXXII/LatinDisplay 2011 will:

• Present international advances and development, as well as provide updates on the Brazilian status in their development and manufacturing in all these technologies.
• Focus on research and development with potential for future technologies.
• Present emerging technologies and new applications and review display systems and products.
