• All display technologies including plasma displays (PDPs), liquid crystal displays (LCDs) e-paper, 3D displays, electro-luminescent displays (ELDs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), field emission displays (FEDs), flexible displays, projection displays, LED displays, etc.;
• Touch screens, tablets and other peripherals;
• Solar cells (Si-based, hybrid and dye sensitized, CIGS, etc.)
• Backlight units (BLUs) for LCDs and components (enhancement foils, lamps, inverters, etc.);
• Lighting (LED, OLED, fluorescent, etc.);
• Optical devices;
• Thin film devices;
• Ergonomics, human factors, visual perception, etc.;
• Organic electronics;
• Batteries;
• Nanotechnology;
• Image processing, systems software and display processing hardware (drivers, controllers, video processors, digital video format converters, etc.);
• Applications in medical imaging, TV, telephony, automotive, aeronautics, advertising, signage, education, multimedia, electronic cinema, etc.;
• Interconnectivity, usability and access to multiple sources of content.

For all these technologies the following aspects will be covered:

• Materials;
• Chemical and physical processes;
• Device and process modeling;
• Equipment, instruments and tools;
• Electronics and ICs for addressing, controlling, testing, etc.

• Environmental issues;
• Commercialization, end-consumer, retailing, distribution, etc.;
• Market overview and forecasts;
• Strategic and economic evaluation of technologies; business strategy analysis and recommendations;

You are cordially invited to contribute to the scientific and technical program by submitting papers on any of these listed areas. To submit a paper (or papers) to LatinDisplay 2009 see “Paper Submission”, observing that you must be registered at Latindisplay 2009 to submit. To register see “Registration”.

The accepted papers (full manuscripts or extended abstracts) will be published in the Proceedings of LatinDisplay 2009, the most important repository of scientific and technical information about displays and related technologies in Latin America. The Serial of the Proceedings of LatinDisplay is indexed at the Library of Congress, in Washington D.C., as ISSN 1946-3871.

SID recognizes LatinDisplay Conferences for awarding Senior Member Grade to SID members. For more information see “SID Recognition”.

Full manuscripts of papers presented at LatinDisplay 2009 will be selected according to their relevance for publication at “Journal of the Society for Information Display” (JSID). For more information see the “Journal of SID”.

Outstanding presented papers at LatinDisplay 2009 will be selected by the “LatinDisplay 2009 Award Committee” for receiving the following Abinfo Awards:

• “Best Contributed Paper of LatinDisplay 2009”
• “Best Student Paper of LatinDisplay 2009”
